Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA), is a naturally occurring
free fatty acid found mainly in dairy products and meat. Scientific research
suggests that CLA helps build muscle and reduce body fat. For vegans and vegetarians
getting enough CLA from diet alone may not be possible, in fact even for people
who consume meat and dairy getting enough CLA from diet alone for the said

In another study that was published in Journal of International Medical Research
volunteers received CLA or placebo for 3 months, and asked not to make any
changes in their diet and lifestyle during the study. The CLA group had a
significant reduction in body fat percent from 21.3% to 17.0%, and a reduction
in body weight. Many other studies can be found in scientific journals.
