The anesthetic formula helps to "soothe and cool" and forms a protective film over the irritated tissue to reduce the chance of further irritation or bacterial growth. Vagi-Gard Medicated Creams contain the active ingredient Benzocaine, an anesthetic ingredient used to soothe and calm irritation. The Sensitive Cream contains 5% benzocaine in its formulation.
